The electricity production represents the culmination of months of meticulous planning, engineering, and testing—a testament to SolarWise’s commitment to empowering individuals to own a piece of the sun. Electricity has been running since the beginning of January, and sales are already underway. We’re especially proud to achieve this milestone within the timeframe we set for ourselves, ensuring that both electricity production and the registration with the Self-Regulatory Organization (SRO) in Switzerland are on track to be finalized before the end of January. This achievement highlights our adherence to strict deadlines, despite the involvement of public institutions such as COPEL and the SRO, which operate on their own timelines beyond our control. We owe a big thank you to our lawyers, whose expertise and dedication have been instrumental in ensuring our compliance and navigating the complex regulatory requirements set by FINMA.
This development is not just a technical achievement but a significant leap forward in fulfilling SolarWise’s commitment to its community. Each Solar NFT holder now directly contributes to a greener planet, while enjoying the tangible benefits of owning a solar panel within an operational farm. As the electricity began (beginning of January) to flow into the grid, SolarWise also is finalizing its registration with the Self-Regulatory Organization (SRO), which is essential for making electricity payouts in compliance with Swiss regulations and the FINMA no-action letter. We began finalizing this in December, but our innovative business model adheres to strict rules, and our lawyers are doing everything in their control to ensure compliance, and we are speeding up to finalize everything within the coming days.
What Is the Self-Regulatory Organization (SRO)?
The SRO registration is a crucial regulatory requirement in Switzerland. SolarWise’s compliance ensures that electricity payouts can legally proceed, aligning with the guidance provided in the FINMA no-action letter. This process involves adherence to Anti-Money Laundering (AML) laws, adding an extra layer of governance and transparency. Furthermore, being registered with an SRO means SolarWise will undergo yearly audits, reinforcing our commitment to maintaining the highest standards of accountability and trust.
What’s Next for SolarWise?
While this milestone is cause for celebration, the SolarWise journey is far from over. The company remains laser-focused on ensuring the seamless distribution of electricity rewards to Solar NFT holders. Rewards are slated to begin at the end of January, with payouts in $VET tokens, marking another innovative step in blending blockchain technology with real-world assets. NFT holders will receive monthly payouts based on the electricity produced during that month.
SolarWise is also preparing for its next major step: the sale of another solar farm, scheduled for the end of January 2025. This expansion will further scale SolarWise’s impact and provide more opportunities for individuals to join the renewable energy revolution.
Electricity Production - Live Tracking with the SolarWise dApp
SolarWise’s innovative dApp offers live tracking functionality, allowing Solar NFT holders to monitor the performance of their individual panels in real-time. This feature not only enhances transparency but also engages users by connecting them more closely with their renewable energy contributions. Live updates and tracking metrics provide an intuitive and user-friendly experience, ensuring that all stakeholders stay informed and empowered.
Our Live Tracking feature is fully ready, but we are currently waiting for third-party inverter data logger software to list and register the farm on their platform. Once this step is completed, the energy production data will be seamlessly distributed to our dApp, enabling real-time tracking. This process should be finalized in the coming days.
